Digital marketplace platform
Conecta Lá is a startup recognized as a ScaleUp by Endeavor and specializing in marketplace operations. The company built a smart system to refine the entire sales operation:
- For sellers: the solution works as a sales channel that connects product catalogs to the leading e-commerce storefronts.
- For marketplaces: Conecta Lá is an operations management tool that controls the entire sales process and provides insights for better decisions.
The challenge
Build a new structure and an environment that scales as needed.
With continuous, rapid growth, Conecta Lá needed to quickly restructure its cloud environment to keep pace, reduce costs and build a complete pipeline following security best practices.
Its applications ran in containers managed by Amazon EKS, but with that setup the company couldn't automate configuration management or the deployment process for its customers, which limited its ability to scale the business.
The solution
Exclusivity, innovation and security
The solutions architect teams at KXC, an AWS partner, and Conecta Lá jointly built a microservices-based CI/CD infrastructure that lets the company build, test and deploy applications quickly and securely.
This infrastructure enables decentralized, independent deployments of multiple software packages, in standardized units called containers, with a focus on automatically integrating processes. The DevOps approach simplifies the application lifecycle for the development team and abstracts away the environment's architecture. AWS services such as AWS Fargate, Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS make it easier to run and manage Docker containers at scale.
Because Conecta Lá had several production applications running in containers managed by Amazon EKS, the architecture was migrated to microservices, improving scalability, maintainability and flexibility. To ensure consistent, automated configuration management, the team recommended Argo CD, which maintains the desired state of the applications.
To automate deployment, the pipeline was also redesigned: GitLab became the central code repository and AWS CodePipeline automates deployment, forming a complete pipeline. With Argo CD integrated, updates reach production automatically.
- Security: data encryption at rest and in transit, multi-factor authentication for access to critical resources, least-privilege access policies and continuous monitoring of AWS resources.
- Costs: Amazon Aurora Serverless v2 was adopted as the database for the microservices. It offers high availability without the need to provision or manage server capacity, delivering the cost savings Conecta Lá was looking for.
